The prints on the wall were extra pages from the book that didn’t make the final cut for whatever reason. I thought it would be a good opportunity to display them and add another element of ‘fomo’ to the event.

So much of what we make, of what I make even is digital. Digital photo, digital edit, digital print, digital exhibit. Even film photos are scanned straight into the computer. I wanted to make something more tangible. This is one of the major reasons I make physical books.

I encouraged people to come sporting their best hats, with prizes as incentive.
The prizes being T-shirts and stickers.

I spent the evening signing books and writing personalised messages. It was a great way to see and speak to everyone that turned out for the event, the only downside was I didn’t get to walk around and mingle as much as I would have liked. All in all the launch was a success, I had around 150+ people in attendance, and sold 100 books out of a 500 initial print run and everyone that came had a good time!
